Imagine spending 15 years as a Detective with the Australian Federal Police, working both at home and abroad with the United Nations. That’s exactly what Kevin did, honing his skills in information analysis and cultural change implementation. His time in law enforcement gave him invaluable insights into human behaviour and organisational dynamics.
But Kevin didn’t stop there. For over two decades, he ran his own private practice, Burrell Lawyers, where he specialised in business law. As a Solicitor and Barrister in NSW, he became an expert in crafting business policies and employment contracts that work in the real world.
Now, Kevin is channeling his passion for creating positive workplaces into groundbreaking academic research. He’s currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Newcastle, focusing on a topic close to our hearts: using multidisciplinary approaches to tackle workplace bullying and foster psychological safety cultures.
With his legal acumen, leadership experience, and dedication to positive change, Kevin is a driving force behind our mission to transform workplaces. His work is set to make waves not just in Australia, but globally, as he contributes to our understanding of how legal, leadership, and behavioural interventions can create safer, more productive work environments.
Desley brings a powerful blend of academic knowledge and real-world experience to our team. With a Master of Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Newcastle, she’s well-equipped to tackle the complex challenges of workplace wellbeing.
With over 15 years as a business legal practice manager, Desley has developed invaluable insights into the intricacies of workplace dynamics and legal compliance. Her role in this capacity has allowed her to effectively bridge the gap between legal requirements and practical implementation.
Her time with Workcover NSW further honed her skills in work health and safety compliance, making her a go-to expert for navigating the often-complex world of workplace regulations.
